Decades of Tourism Expertise, Powered by Data

With years of hands-on experience in the tourism industry—spanning frontline operations, management, and business strategy—we understand the unique challenges that tourism businesses face. From running daily tours to overseeing business operations, we’ve lived the reality of this industry. Now, we use data, automation, and analytics to help tourism businesses operate more efficiently, increase revenue, and enhance guest experiences.

From the Frontline to Management: Our Tourism Journey

Our background in tourism began on the ground—guiding tours, managing bookings, and ensuring visitors had unforgettable experiences. Working across small, family-run businesses and large-scale tourism operators, we saw firsthand how inefficiencies, fluctuating demand, and unpredictable market trends impact operations.

As we transitioned into management and operations, we gained a broader perspective on business strategy, financial performance, and technology-driven improvements. We saw where tourism businesses struggled—whether it was overstaffing during slow periods, missing out on data-driven pricing strategies, or inefficiently managing customer flow. That’s why we founded this consulting service: to bridge the gap between experience and data to help businesses thrive in an evolving tourism landscape.

Navigating the Evolving New Zealand Tourism Landscape

The tourism sector is a cornerstone of New Zealand's economy. In 2019, international tourism contributed approximately 5.8% to New Zealand's GDP, with over 3.8 million visitors injecting $11.4 billion into our economy. However, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a significant downturn, with international visitor numbers plummeting by 79.23% in 2021, resulting in a 91.6% drop in tourism expenditure. Despite these challenges, the industry has demonstrated resilience. By December 2024, overseas visitor arrivals totaled 3.3 million, marking a 12% increase from the previous year. Notably, Australia led this resurgence with a 10% increase in visitor numbers, followed by China at 64%, and the United States at 10%.

Looking ahead, projections indicate a positive trajectory for New Zealand tourism. Visitor arrivals are expected to grow by 4.0% annually, reaching 5.1 million visitors by 2025, up from 3.9 million in 2018. Correspondingly, total international spend is anticipated to reach $15.0 billion in 2025, reflecting a 34% increase from 2018.
